What is Monocrystalline Silicon?
Monocrystalline Silicon is made from very pure Monocrystalline Silicon. Monocrystalline Silicon has a single and continuous crystal lattice structure with practically zero defects or impurities.
One of the many reasons Monocrystalline Silicon is superior to other types of silicon cells are their high efficiencies - which are typically around 15%.
Because the manufacturing process required to produce Monocrystalline Silicon is more involved and detailed than other types, this results in slightly higher costs for Monocrystalline Silicon than other silicon technologies.

What is Polycrystalline Silicon?
Polycrystalline Silicon - also referred to as "polysilicon" or "Poly" is a material consisting of multiple small silicon crystals and has long been used as the conducting gate material in MOSFET and CMOS processing technologies. For these technologies, Polycrystalline Silicon is deposited using LPCVD reactors at high temperatures and is usually heavily n or p-doped.
The main advantage of Polycrystalline Silicon over other types of silicon is that the mobility can be orders of magnitude larger and the material also shows greater stability under electric field and light-induced stress. This allows far more complex, high-speed electrical circuits that can be created on the glass substrate along with the amorphous silicon devices, which are still needed for their low-leakage characteristics.
A complete Polycrystalline Silicon active layer process is also used in some cases where a small pixel size is required, such as in projection displays.
Although the performance of Poly panels is generally inferior to that of Monocrystalline panels, in countries where bright sunlight is less available the Poly panels can perform better on an annual cycle.

Are all kits suitable for grants and Feed In Tarrifs?
Not all panels are suitable for feed in tarrifs. Always check that your panels have the correct accreditation in order to qualify. Similarly any inverter must have a G83 Certificate in order to qualify to sell electricity back to the grid.

No two installations are the same, therefore we offer the ability to have standard or bespoke kits designed and sourced in order that they can be delivered to you as a finished package.
A range of MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) approved and NON-MCS panels are available, depending on your requirement to submit your installation for grants or feed in tariffs.
Roof mounting kits must be pre specified depending on the type of roof for the installation.
Both in roof and on roof systems are available.
Inverters all have G83 certificates, and are specified according to the size and type of installation.
Cables, clamps, nuts, bolts and all spare parts are quoted as a full part of each kit, and will be specified prior to invoice
